Ingredients:
- 1 block (14 oz) firm or extra-firm tofu
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
Drain the tofu and press it between paper towels or a clean kitchen towel to remove as much water as possible.
Cut the tofu into 1-inch cubes and place them in a mixing bowl.
In a separate small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, maple syrup, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, salt, and pepper to make the marinade.
Pour the marinade over the tofu and toss gently to coat the cubes.
Let the tofu marinate for at least 15 minutes, or up to 1 hour in the refrigerator.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
Arrange the tofu cubes in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake the tofu for 20-25 minutes, or until lightly browned and crispy on the outside.
Remove the tofu from the oven and serve hot as a side dish or as a protein source for your meal.
Enjoy your marinated and baked tofu!
Pro Tips :
Use firm tofu: Use firm or extra-firm tofu for the best results. Press the tofu to remove excess moisture before marinating it.
Marinate for at least 30 minutes: Marinate the tofu for at least 30 minutes, or overnight for even more flavor. Use a mixture of soy sauce, vinegar, oil, garlic, and other seasonings to create a flavorful marinade.
Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) for optimal baking.
Line the baking sheet: Line the baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent the tofu from sticking and to make cleanup easier.
Space the tofu pieces out: Space the tofu pieces out on the baking sheet to ensure that they bake evenly and become crispy.
Bake for the right amount of time: Bake the tofu for 25-30 minutes, or until it is golden brown and crispy on the outside.
Flip the tofu halfway through baking: Flip the tofu halfway through baking to ensure that it cooks evenly on both sides.
Serve hot or cold: Serve the marinated baked tofu hot out of the oven as a delicious and healthy main dish or snack. You can also serve it cold as a tasty addition to salads or sandwiches.
